myofascial dry cupping

As part of your sports massage/therapy treatment I can include Myofascial Dry Cupping, from a Western perspective!  This is NOT wet cupping!

Cupping pulls stagnant blood from the area we are working on, to stimulate healing and bring a fresh supply of blood to the area.

It is very effective at stretching tight fascia & muscles.

As we age our body degenerates and we lose muscle tone, have increased adhesions in fascia and muscle, and a decrease in blood flow, which then causes the fascia to become knotted and scarred, which then limits your range of movement.  So dry cupping can help restore more movement by increasing blood flow to the muscle, fascia and skin, and increasing the pliability of soft tissue.

During your treatment I may apply the cups in various techniques including static cupping, sliding, walking, active movement and soft tissue release.

Benefits include:

  • Increase in circulation to the muscle, fascia & skin;
  • Increases the removal of chemical irritants and stagnant blood within muscle and fascia;
  • Increases the removal of edema after injury;
  • Promotes the healing process;
  • Increases mobility in the joint;
  • Active movement cupping technique stimulates the nervous system and aids in the re-educating muscle memory and proprioception;
  • Helps with pain management.
